The water well drilling rig DTH hammer often faces these problems; here are solutions:
-
Poor cuttings discharge:
Happens easily in clay layers.
Increase airflow or add little water to moisten cuttings and prevent clumping.
-
Excessive well deviation: May occur in hard rock due to uneven force. Measure deviation regularly. Adjust rig position and drill slowly with light pressure to correct.
-
Hammer overheating: Can happen after long work. Stop for 10 minutes every 2 hours. Check internal temperature to avoid seal aging.

A project had cuttings blockage in clay. Using “air-water mixing” made discharge smooth, restoring the water well drilling rig efficiency.
