Types of DTH Hammers and Their Use in Water Well Drilling Rigs

A water well drilling rig uses different DTH hammers based on structure for varied needs.

  1. Low-pressure hammers (0.5-0.7MPa): Fit soft rocks/soils like sandstone. Low cost, suits small water well drilling rigs.
  2. Medium-pressure hammers (0.8-1.2MPa): Versatile for medium-hard rocks (limestone). First choice for small/medium rigs.
  3. High-pressure hammers (1.3-2.0MPa): Crush hard rocks (granite). Pair with large rigs for >300m deep wells.

Rural shallow wells use low-pressure hammers; mountain deep hard rocks need high-pressure ones.

Matching types lets the water well rig perform best. The water well drilling rig adapts well with right hammers.
