Special Applications: Standard vs. Sulfur-Resistant DTH Hammers for Water Well Drilling Rigs

The water well drilling rig uses standard or sulfur-resistant DTH hammers for specific needs.

  1. Sulfur-resistant for sulfur layers: Chrome cylinders, sulfur-proof pistons. Last 300 hours in 0.05% H₂S—2.5x standard models.
  2. Critical for hot springs with sulfur: One drilled 52, 80m³/h wells. Standard ones failed at 200m due to corrosion.
  3. Standard better for normal strata: 25% lower cost per meter, easier to maintain. Saves cost where sulfur is absent.

Anti-sulfur adds 30% cost. The water well drilling rig needs pre-surveys to pick the right type.
