In water well drilling rig operations, bit types vary greatly in soft soil adaptability. Beyond scraper bits:

 

  1. Tipped roller bits suit clay with small gravel. Their alloy teeth reduce clay adhesion.
  2. Spiral blade bits perform well in loam. Spiral structures cut and remove cuttings together.
  3. Choose using soil samples: Large-open scrapers for pure clay; side-edged composites for clay-sand mix.
Keep 2-3 bit types on site. Size bits 5-10mm larger than design to prevent shrinkage. Water well drilling rigs maintain efficiency with flexible changes.
