Types and Features of Water Well Drill Rig
-
Rotary water well drill rig form a major category. Small/large pot augers have simple structures, rotating to cut soil, with depths 80-100m (small) and 30-40m (large). Positive/negative circulation rotary rigs use mud: positive pumps mud down; negative suctions it up, excelling in 50m-deep holes. Air-wash rotary rigs suit deep, arid, or frozen areas with strong cuttings removal.
-
Hydraulic power head rigs drive large bits fast, simplifying tool handling. DTH vibration-rotary rigs combine vibration/rotation, drilling 150m deep with 600mm diameter. Impact rigs use vertical motion: grab cones drill 40-150m by weight; rope impact rigs reach 250-600m but lack simultaneous cuttings removal, lowering efficiency.
-
Combined rigs have two types: rotary rigs with added impact for pebble layers; pneumatic DTH hammer rigs merge impact/rotation, drilling straight deep hard rock fast. These varied types meet diverse geological needs, supporting groundwater development.
