The dip angle of coal seams affects the construction method and borehole trajectory of water well drilling rig.

 

  1. Construction in gently inclined coal seams (dip angle < 15°) is relatively simple, feasible with conventional rigs, but verticality control of boreholes should be noted.
  2. For inclined coal seams (dip angle 15°-45°), the rig needs proper adjustment: adopt oblique drilling technology and use directional drilling to control the borehole trajectory, preventing deviation from the design direction.
  3. Construction in steeply inclined coal seams (dip angle > 45°) is difficult, requiring special rig equipment and stabilizing devices.
