Hard Rock Drilling: Critical Parameter Tuning
Parameter tuning is key to maximizing hard rock bit performance.
In granite, follow “medium pressure, medium speed”: 8-12kN pressure, 150-200r/min speed. Balances diamond cutting efficiency and avoids overheating wear.
High pressure risks early matrix wear; fast speed increases diamond cracking chances.
For basalt’s brittleness, use “high pressure, low speed”: 10-15kN pressure, 80-120r/min to reduce impact damage.
Tips for parameter control:
- Stick to 8-12kN/150-200r/min for granite. Protect diamond bits from excess stress.
- Apply 10-15kN/80-120r/min for basalt. Enhance breaking while reducing chipping.
- Monitor torque closely. Abnormal fluctuate signals need immediate bit checks.
Precise parameter tuning ensures efficient hard rock drilling operations.
