Core hyperspectral imaging technology improves exploration accuracy-rock core drilling rig

Core hyperspectral imaging technology brings new opportunities to enhance exploration accuracy. This technology can quickly acquirespectrum-image integratedhyperspectral data of core samples, revealing short-wave infrared spectral features of typical minerals.rock core drilling rig

  1. In the exploration of the Bangpu large polymetallic deposit in Tibet, domestic and foreign core imagers were applied for hyperspectral imaging tests on cores. Through analyzing imaging data, six minerals like calcite and epidote were successfully identified, and mineral mapping results of the two instruments were generally consistent, clearly reflecting the combination and distribution of different altered minerals.
  2. The SPECIM imager achieved an average mapping accuracy of 91.5% for borehole samples. Compared with traditional point-measurement methods, this technology provides richer spatial and spectral information, offering technical support for extracting spectral characteristic parameters and analyzing variation laws of pointer minerals.
  3. Using abundant spectral data from hyperspectral imaging, methods like statistical analysis of chlorite Fe—OH peak positions can indicate skarn deposit exploration, greatly improving exploration accuracy and helping to discover ore bodies more precisely.rock core drilling rig
